The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw against Armenia on Wednesday, while Faroe Islands got thrashed 5-0 by by Czech Republic on the same day. Both sides have never qualified for the finals of a World Cup, and they will not be present at the 2022 edition of the tournament being held in Qatar. Kosovo had a decent Nations League campaign as they managed to secure a second spot finish in League C Group 2, having collected nine points from six games, six points adrift of group-winners Greece. The Dardanians’ last competitive actions saw them thrashing Cyprus 5-2 at the end of September. Last time out, in a friendly against Armenia, Kosovo twice came from behind to earn a draw. Zhirayr Shaghoyan’s opener was canceled out by Lirim Kastrati, from the penalty spot. Kamo Hovhannisyan restored Armenia’s lead, ten minutes from time, and just when it looked like the Mountaineers might secure the win, Donat Rrudhani’s 93rd minute strike leveled the score.Â
Faroe Islands, on the other hand, conceded five times against Czech Republic on Wednesday. It was their first defeat since the start of June. The National Team finished their Nations League campaign with an impressive 2-1 win over Turkey at the end of September. Goals from Viljormur Davidsen and Joan Edmundsson helped Faroe Islands earn three points away from home and helped them move to third spot in League C Group 1.
