In the mid-week, England found the back of the net four times through Dane Scarlett’s first-half brace and one goal each from Carney Chukwuemeka and Daniel Jebbison in the second half. It was Ian Foster’s side’s second consecutive win in as many games. In their opening match against Austria, the Three Lions won 2-0. Foster’s side are in stunning form having scored four goals and conceded none in two outings.
Israel on the other hand, began their campaign with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Serbia, before securing all three points against Austria. On Wednesday, at Mestsky Stadion, goals from Tai abed, Ariel Lugasi, Ilay Madmon and Oscar Gloch helped Israel to their first win in this edition of the competition. With the nation’s best-ever result at this age category being a group stage exit in 2014, Ofir Haim’s team are aiming to make history by reaching the semi-finals.
England boss Foster is likely to rotate his squad in order to give more game-time to the players on the bench and freshen up the team. Scarlett could once again lead the attack with captain Harvey Vale in support on the left flank. Jacob Ramsey, Tim Iroegbunam and Chukwuemeka will form the midfield trio. Israel on the other hand, are unlikely to make too many changes for the Saturday fixture. Top scorer in qualifying Dor Turgeman leads the attack with Gloch providing the support.
Israel U-19 probable starting lineup: Gliklich; Feingold, Israelov, Lemkin, Edri; Kancepolsky, Madmon; abed, Gloch, Lugassy; Turgeman.
England U-19 probable starting lineup: Cox; Norton-Cuffy, Quansah, Edwards, Doyle; Iroegbunam, Chukwuemeka; Ramsey, Devine, Vale; Scarlett.
The European U-19 championship Group B fixture between Israel and England will take place at Mestsky Stadion and it will kickoff at 11:30 pm IST on June 25, Saturday.
