Israel will take on England in a European U-19 championship Group B fixture at Mestsky Stadion on Saturday. The Three Lions have already booked their place in the semi-finals while the Israeli youngsters still need a point to make it to the last-4 of the competition. England thrashed Serbia 4-0 on Wednesday, while  Serbia defeated Austria 4-2 on the same day. Meanwhile the tournament features eight teams competing for the title and they are separated into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group not only qualify for the semi-finals but also secure a place in the finals of 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Indonesia.

In the mid-week, England found the back of the net four times through Dane Scarlett’s first-half brace and one goal each from Carney Chukwuemeka and Daniel Jebbison in the second half. It was Ian Foster’s side’s second consecutive win in as many games. In their opening match against Austria, the Three Lions won 2-0. Foster’s side are in stunning form having scored four goals and conceded none in two outings.

Israel on the other hand, began their campaign with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Serbia, before securing all three points against Austria. On Wednesday, at Mestsky Stadion, goals from Tai abed, Ariel Lugasi, Ilay Madmon and Oscar Gloch helped Israel to their first win in this edition of the competition. With the nation’s best-ever result at this age category being a group stage exit in 2014, Ofir Haim’s team are aiming to make history by reaching the semi-finals.
