English club Chelsea recently had their 100 million euros plus Marcus Alonso offer for Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku rejected, according to reports. Lukaku had an incredible season with Inter in 2020-21 which saw the club break Juventus’ dominance to win the Serie A. Lukaku was an integral part of the Antonio Conte side that achieved the feat. Seeing him regularly produce the fireworks in Italy, the London club has expressed their interest in him. They are likely to increase their offer for the Belgian star in the coming days. Inter, however, seem to have taken a stance that Lukaku is not for sale. It will be interesting to see how the transfer saga plays out throughout the summer.

Chelsea is in dire need of a striker after French star Olivier Giroud’s departure from the club. They have German striker Timo Werner but his form last season is something that certainly has not impressed manager Thomas Tuchel. Chelsea’s promising young striker Tammy Abraham could also move out, meaning the club requires more firepower in their attack.

The London club’s improved bid for Lukaku might reportedly be a figure around 120 million euros. The Belgian scored 24 goals and provided 11 assists in the Serie A last season. He has established himself as a top striker after leaving Manchester United. Chelsea did have a look at Haaland but Borussia Dortmund has no intention of parting with the player unless they receive an astronomical fee. The exit of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United has left the German club lacking firepower at the front, and they possibly cannot afford to lose Haaland at the moment.

Other top Premier League clubs have strengthened their sides to a level. Manchester City is reportedly closing in on Jack Grealish, while United have already signed Sancho and Raphael Varane is close to joining them. Arsenal have signed England defender Ben White, and Tottenham Hotspur is close to signing Atalanta’s Cristian Romero. Thus, Chelsea is also looking to bolster their squad. They are closely looking at French defender Jules Kounde at the moment.

KANE ABSENT FROM SPURS TRAINING

In another incredible transfer saga, England striker Harry Kane has missed his second day at Tottenham training. Kane is thought to be looking for an exit from Spurs who have failed to qualify for the Champions League. The club has already rejected a 100m euros bid from City, according to reports.

However, if Kane refuses to turn up to training for the club, they will be left with no option but to sell him. Spurs are reportedly trying to convince Kane to stay but to no avail. City is certainly the favorite if Kane does get to leave, but with a 100m euros transfer of Jack Grealish reportedly on the way, the financial situation of the club might not allow another big-money signing like Kane.
