Hyderabad FC will look to continue its unbeaten run when they take on Odisha FC in the Indian Super League fixture (ISL) at the GMC Athletic stadium on Tuesday. The Nizams are unbeaten in six games while Odisha have lost two of their last three games. Hyderabad are coming into the match on the back of identical 1-1 draws against FC Goa and SC East Bengal. Meanwhile Odisha FC also played out a 1-1 draw against FC Goa in the previous match.

Hyderabad FC plays an exciting brand of football and most of their attacks are through the flanks. Manuel Marquez’s side has one of the best defenses in the league, having conceded just six goals so far and have kept only one clean sheet but are yet to concede more than one goal in a match this season.

Hyderabad’s strength has been their full-back’s Ashish Rai and Akash Mishra both of them work extremely hard, have great pace and endurance to run up and down throughout the 90 minutes. In the last match against East Bengal, right back Ashish was absent because of injury and Nikhil Poojari was played as a makeshift full back.

Marquez was forced to tweak his formation a little bit and that seems to have affected their game. Bartholomew Ogbeche, who is Hyderabad FC’s top scorer with six goals, wasn’t getting enough supply in the last match.

“We are in a very difficult competition and every team can beat the other. With this kind of competition,” Marquez said.

Odisha has the best foreign players in the league: Marquez

Marquez was full of praise for Odisha FC boss Kiko Ramirez and his side. “For me, Odisha has the best foreign players in the league, even better than the teams at the top of the table..of Course, they have a strong team, and they can beat any team, but then again we can beat them,” he added.

Meanwhile Odisha FC, who had a great start to the competition, scoring nine goals, defeating Bengaluru FC and East Bengal, have faltered in the last few games. Ramirez’s side has failed to score more than one goal in the last five games. Javi Hernandez has been Odish’s top scorer with four goals and the good thing is that Jonathan Christian is aslo finding his feet. He has netted his second goal and has attempted five shots in the last match.

“Hyderabad are a compact team. They are playing for a long time together. They have a good striker in Ogbeche. He is in fine form,” Odisha head coach Kiko Ramirez said. “We faced them in pre-season and they know how to create chances. We analysed them and we know how to counter-attack this team.”
