Midweek victory against Cyprus saw Greece’s recent run include only two defeats in their last seven matches. Their encouraging beginning in the current Nations League has undoubtedly boosted their confidence as they look to earn a promotion to tier two, having missed out narrowly in the last campaign. Gus Poyet’s side began their campaign with two 1-0 victories against Northern Ireland and Kosovo respectively while they brushed aside Cyprus 3-0 on matchday three. Another victory against their nearest competitors will comfortably cement their place at the top of the group.

Kosovo have enjoyed a much more successful period recently after they endured a highly disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign. Their start of the Nations League included a 2-0 win over minnows Cyprus. Having suffered a 1-0 loss against Greece they bounced back in style defeating Northern Ireland 3-2 on Thursday. The Balkan nation have certainly showed their worth and will look to take revenge against Greece to make the scenario at the top of the group ever more interesting.

Possible Lineups

A major setback for Greece from their victory against Cyprus was the serious injury to Dimitris Limnios who ruptured his ACL badly and will be out not only for the fixture against Kosovo but also for the whole year. Rest of the Greece squad is expected to be available with no alterations. Kosovo, on the other hand will have quite a few new options available. While Lirim Kastrati, Ibrahim Dresevic, Betim Fazliji are all suspended, Kosovo will be boosted by the return of Arijanet Muric and Fidan Aliti. Also, Edvin Kurtulus, Elbasan Rashani and Florent Hadergjonaj remain unavailable due to various reasons.

Greece possible line-up: Vlachodimos, Baldock, Mavropanos, Tzavellas, Tsimikas, Bouchalakis, Siopis, Bakasetas, Douvikas, Pavlidis, Giakoumakis

Kosovo possible line-up: Ujkani, Kryeziu, Rrahmani, Aliti, Rrudhani, Berisha, Kololli, Domgjoni, Rashica, Zhegrova, Muriqi
