However, since that defeat, Feyenoord have gone from strength to strength and they are currently sitting at the summit of the Dutch top flight standings, having collected 67 points from 28 games, eight clear of the chasing pack. Since the start of the year, only league-leaders Napoli have won more games than Jose Mourinho’s side in the Italian top flight, and eight wins in the league this year have been accompanied by two wins from four in the Europa League knockout stages.
