Ronaldo has formally asked Juventus for an exit, according to Football insider Fabrizio Romano, who adds that Manchester City are preparing to make an official bid in the near future in hopes of the two sides coming to terms on an agreement. Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, held what was a described as a “tense” meeting in Turin with Juventus about his client’s future. The Juve board told Mendes, who is now in Porto, that the club has no intention to let Ronaldo leave on a free transfer. But this is what Manchester City and Mendes seek, Romano reports. Romano adds that there’s still no official bid on the table from Manchester City. Romano also added that Juve want approximately 30-million-euro fee for Ronaldo while Man City currently have no intentions of paying a fee. Seems like we’re locked in a staring contest between the two European giants. We’ll have to wait and see which team blinks first.

“Yesterday, talking to Cristiano, he told me that he has no intention of staying at Juventus,” Allegri told a press conference. “For this reason he will not be called up for tomorrow’s game [against Empoli in Serie A].
“Things change, it’s a law of life. Juventus remains, which is the most important thing. Cristiano gave his contribution, he made himself available, now he leaves and life goes on.
“Cristiano is to be thanked for what he has done, also as an example amongst the youngsters, but as I said, we must go on.”
