Chelsea consider bringing back Eden Hazard, Timo Werner may exit: reports

Hazard has struggled with form and fitness at Real Madrid since joining is 2019 as he has scored only 5 goals in 43 appearances.

Chelsea is considering bringing back Eden Hazard from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports. The Belgian joined the Spanish giants in 2019 for an initial fee of GBP 88 million. But, he has struggled with form and fitness in his two seasons at the club. The 30-year-old made 43 appearances for Real Madrid scoring only 5 goals. Meanwhile, last season marred by injuries he played just 21 games. However, in his seven seasons at Stamford Bridge, the winger was consistent in terms of goal-scoring in six seasons.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, intermediaries are trying to sound out a potential Chelsea return for Hazard. Los Blancos are reportedly happy to sell the Belgian for GBP 50 million this summer.

Real Madrid happy to sell Eden Hazard

The report stated Real Madrid is keen to cut ties with the Belgian. However, they accept that it would be difficult for the Blues to stump up that sort of money. Chelsea are trying to bring in GBP 170 million rated Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

There had been previous reports that the Spanish side was ready to cash in on Hazard. Meanwhile, he has also angered the Real Madrid fans. Hazard laughed after his side was knocked out from the Champions League semi-finals by Chelsea last season. At full time, he smiled with Kourt Zouma and Edourd Mendy at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard took to Instagram straight away to issue an apology. He said it wasn’t his ‘intention to offend Real Madrid fans’. Hazard added it is a ‘dream’ to play for the club.

Hazard took to his Instagram story to say, “I am sorry. I have read a lot of opinions about me today and it wasn’t my intention to offend Real Madrid fans. It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win. The season is not over and together we must now battle for La Liga. Hala Madrid!”

Timo Werener not happy at Chelsea

Meanwhile, there are claims that Timo Werner is not happy at Chelsea. The German wants to leave if a new striker arrives. The forward arrived at Stamford Bridge last season from RB Leipzig for GBP 53 million. He has had a mixed debut season for the English side. The German striker scored only six goals in the Premier League. But, he ended the season with 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. Werner also played a pivotal part in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel may have to revamp his striking options in his first full season at the club. Frenchman Olivier Giroud has already left England and is set to join AC Milan for GBP 1 million. Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham hasn’t been Tuchel’s first-choice striker therefore the youngster is linked with a move to Arsenal.

Abraham was reportedly offered a player-plus-cash offer in an opening bid for Norwegian Haaland. This was along with Hudson-Odoi who has often been linked with a Chelsea exit.
