Middlesbrough will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the EFL Championship when they travel to Ashton Gate on Monday evening to take on Bristol City. Bristol City came from behind to secure all three points against Stoke City last time out, thanks to Zak Vyner’s 72nd-minute equaliser and Anis Mehmeti’s winner five minutes from time. It was their 13th second tier victory of the season. The Robins have been decent at home this term, having recorded right wins and six draws, collecting 28 points from 20 league-matches at the Ashton Gate. Meanwhile, the Bristol managed to secure a 2-1 victory when the Boro visited Ashton Gate last season, while this time around, the reverse fixture in November last year at the Riverside Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw after Middlesbrough forward Chuba Akpom canceled out Andreas Weimann’s early opener.

Michael Carrick’s side, on the other hand, are heading into the match on the back of a two consecutive defeats to relegation-battlers Huddersfield Town and league-leaders Burnley in the space of just six days. Boro suffered their 13th second tier defeat of the season against Burnley on Friday, despite the fact that Akpom’s 48th-minute penalty-kick canceled out Ashley Barnes’s early opener. Middlesbrough have recorded 20 Championship-wins this term and the latest one came against Preston North End just before the international break, courtesy of Cameron Archer’s brace and one goal each from Akpom and Marcus Forss. Meanwhile, Carrick’s side have lost 10 of their 20 league-games on the road this season.
