Pervis Estupinan on Joao Pedro

Referring to Joao Pedro, Pervis Estupinan, quoted by the club’s website, said, “I spoke to him when I heard that he had signed for the club and I said ‘my friend we are going to be teammates again.’ He was really happy – he can’t wait to start training here and playing for us, he has seen us play and seen how well the team has been playing. I told him that he will be happy here because there are great people in the dressing room and it’s a relaxed atmosphere. I’m thrilled that he’s going to be here soon.”

Estupinan also had told his Brighton teammates about Joao Pedro’s ability after he was linked with the team. “When I heard Joao’s name I spoke to some teammates here as I knew him from our time at Watford together. I told them that he’s a very good player, he has great technique, a quality player. I hope that he’ll be able to help the team,” he elaborated.

It’s not easy changing countries: Pervis Estupinan

The Ecuadorian full-back played an important role in helping Brighton enjoy a dream campaign last time out. Reflecting on it, he said, “I would sum up my first season here using the word pride. I’m very proud that I have played a lot of games, so many minutes and that I was able to settle in well and very quickly. It’s not easy changing countries and language.”

“My teammates helped me – there are some from my country and the other South Americans helped me to adapt, which meant I was able to focus as quickly as possible. I feel very good here, playing better and better and understanding what my manager wanted from me. I’m trying to help my team and want to repay the fans for the warm welcome they gave me with hard work and commitment in every game. that’s my summary – I’m really happy and things are going well.”
