Brazil went into the World Cup in Qatar as one of the favourites, having recorded a 15-game unbeaten run and comfortably booked their place in the knockout round courtesy of winning their first two games against Serbia and Switzerland, before suffering a shock 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in their final group-match. Although Tete’s men thrashed South Korea 4-1 in the round of 16 clash, Croatia produced a resolute defensive performance to keep the score 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes of play in the quarter-final match before Bruno Petkovic’s 117th-minute effort canceled out Neymar’s opener, and the checkered Ones went on to prevail 4-2 in the tiebreaker. After the World Cup disappointment, Selecao returned to action in Match losing out to the Atlas Lions in Tangier despite the fact that Casemiro got on the scoresheet. Little Yellow are going through a transition phase and having lost their last two games, Brazil will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the two friendlies against Guinea and Senegal this month.
