Beijing Guoan will be taking on Chengdu Rongcheng FC in matchday seven of the Chinese Super League 2022. The teams have experienced contrasting fortunes in their respective campaigns so far. The hosts, Beijing Guoan have enjoyed a good league run as they find themselves at the fifth position in the league table with 11 points to their name. While, Chengdu Rongcheng are struggling in the bottom half of the table with just four points so far which have kept them at the 15th spot, just one place above the relegation zone. These two sides last met each other on matchday two with Beijing Guoan taking the win by 3-2 in a thrilling game. Prior to the start of the Chinese Super League 2022, Beijing Guoan had endured a pretty disappointing set of results. They could manage only a single win with three draws and two defeats in their last six matches before June. After suffering a 2-1 defeat on opening day against Cangzhou Mighty Lions, Beijing Guoan have been on a smooth ride since. They are unbeaten since matchday two, a run that includes three wins and two draws. Feng Xie’s side will be aware of the fact that a win against Chengdu Rongcheng will take them to just three points off the summit. This will give them added motivation and encouragement to go all out for the three points.
Chengdu Rongcheng, on the other hand, enjoyed a splendid run of results before the June fixtures of the Chinese Super League began. They earned 13 points out of a possible 18 thanks to four wins and a draw. Somehow, at the end of six matchdays in the league so far, Chengdu Rongcheng are yet to find a win. Their struggles have seen them drop uncomfortably close to the relegation zone. After consecutive defeats in their opening two games against Shenzhen and Cangzhou Mighty Lions, Chengdu Rongcheng are on a four match unbeaten run with four draws. They will however, now be more desperate then ever for a win to reverse their fortunes and give them some sort of momentum.
For the hosts, Li Ke and Quanbo Guo will be unavailable as they continue to fight their way back to complete fitness. Apart from this pair, Pengxiang Jin and Samuel Adegbenro might also not make it for the game in time due to injury woes. For Chengdu Rongcheng, Abduhamit Abdugheni and Guanghui Han will be missing due to suspension and injury respectively.
