Barcelona are heading into the match on the back of a thumping 4-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in a La Liga fixture on Sunday. The visitors, meanwhile, got the better of Hoffenheim 2-0 in a Bundesliga match, a day earlier.

It has been a below par Champions League group stage campaign for Barcelona thus far.
