Aston Villa will be keen to end their winless streak in the Premier League when they face Southampton on Friday. The upcoming clash will see two sides lying in the bottom half of the table going head-to-head with each other. Their opponents, Southampton, have fared better but they have also been largely inconsistent till now. They are sitting 12th on the table, with seven points from six matches. Southampton have won just twice in the league till now.

There are a few players who are out injured for both sides heading into this clash. However, the break at the weekend following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II would have given both sides an opportunity to work on their struggles. Aston Villa held Manchester City to a respectable draw in their last game, hence most of those players will be expected to start again for them. Diego Carlos, however, will be absent for a long while and Matty Cash is also set to miss the match. Meanwhile, Southampton will also miss a couple of players through injuries. Romeo Lavia’s absence will be a blow for them and he will be joined on the sidelines by Valentino Livramento.
