The contest at the Al Maktoum Stadium will not be about results but mainly about both teams getting their match sharpness and fitness back on track. This will be the first mid-season friendly for the Gunners, while the French side have already played out a 5-3 win over OH Leuven. This contest will see the reunion of former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette. He has been brilliant for the French side this season and will hope to carry that form against his former club. Both sides will miss some of their players due to their involvement in the World Cup. Arsenal will have the majority of the absentees due to their national team involvement. Gabriel Jesus is out injured, while Emile Smith Rowe has traveled with them but is unlikely to be involved in matches. Meanwhile, Lyon will be without injured Jerome Boateng, however, Corentin Tolisso and Jeff Reine-Adelaide could be involved.
