Arsenal will be eager to return to winning ways when they play host to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday. The Gunners are in the middle of a two-game losing streak in all competitions – a run which they would hope to end on Saturday. However, it would not be easy against the Bees who are going through an excellent run of late. Even though the Gunners will be the favourites at home, the form is on the visitors’ side.

Mikel Arteta’s side lost their last game away to Everton in the Premier League 1-0 and before that they were eliminated in the FA Cup by the same scoreline against Manchester City. Prior to these two games, Arsenal’s run in the league has been mighty impressive. They are deservedly sitting at the top of the standings and are backed by many to go all the way in the title race. However, to do that, Arsenal have to return to winning ways which won’t be a straight-forward task against the in-form Bees.

Brentford have won four of their last five Premier League games, while drawing the other. They are entering this game on the back of registering a thumping 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Southampton in their last game. As things stand, Brentford are seventh in the league table with 33 points from 21 matches. On the other hand, leaders Arsenal have 50 points from 20 games to have a five-point cushion over second-placed Manchester City, having played a game lesser than the defending champions.

Possible Lineups

Arsenal have good and bad news in relation to the injury front. Gabriel Jesus is making good progress on his knee injury, however, he will take a good while to return to first-team action. Reiss Nelson could also be in contention to play some part in this game. However, Emile Smith Rowe has suffered a setback and is a major doubt for this game, while Mohamed Elneny could very well miss the rest of the season. On the other hand, Brentford will continue to miss Pontus Jansson for this contest. However, Shandon Baptiste and Frank Onyeka could recover in time for this contest.

Arsenal possible line-up: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Xhaka, Partey, Odegaard, Saka, Trossard, Nketiah

Brentford possible line-up: Raya, Hickey, Pinnock, Mee, Henry, Dasilva, Norgaard, Jensen, Mbeumo, Wissa, Toney
