Anupama Upadhyaya is an upcoming Indian badminton player specialising in women’s singles. She is a former BWF World Junior Number 1 which transformed her badminton career on the international stage. Anupama became the Indian National Badminton Champion in women’s singles in 2023.
Talking about her professional journey, Anupama started her International streak at the Kenya International where she was defeated by her compatriot Aakarshi Kashyap. Uganda International followed this, where she was again by her compatriot Malvika Bansod. Finally, her winning streak started with the India International Challenge where she defeated another upcoming badminton superstar, Unnati Hooda in 2021. This was followed by a win at the Polish Open in 2022. Subsequently, this was followed by a win at the Tajikistan International where she defeated Ksenia Polikarpova.
Apart from this she also has a BWF Junior International title which she won in the Uganda Junior International. Anupama has also displayed promising performances at the national level as well. However, at the senior level, she has not yet made her mark. But it’s never too late for the youngster to stamp her authority on the international stage.
On the other hand, Anupama’s personal life has been out of the media scanner so far. The 18-year-old is not in any relationship currently. Anupama is fully focused on her career as of now and is eying this year’s Orleans Masters, to make her mark on the international stage.
