Kidambi Srikanth is an Indian Badminton player who represents the nation in men’s singles. He moved to Gopichand Academy in 2008 to ensure that he would be able to represent India on an international stage. Srikanth trained under the All-England champion and achieved a plethora of success in the international field. He gained widespread media attention after winning both the singles and doubles divisions of the All India Junior International Badminton Championship held in Pune. Srikanth was the first Indian male player to win the Indonesia Super Series. He represented India in the 2022 Thomas Cup by playing for India’s men’s team. He played the crucial final game against Jonathan Christie. India defeated Indonesia 3-0 in the championship match to take home the Thomas Cup. Kidambi and Sai Praneeth made history in 2017 when they became the first Indian badminton pair to reach the finals of a ranking event.
