Taipei Open 2022: Day 1 Results, Schedule, Fixture and Live Streaming Details

Former world number 1 Saina Nehwal and her husband Parupalli Kashyap will be leading the India squad at the Taipei Open 2022 starting on Tuesday. The Taipei Open is a BWF Super 300 tournament. The competition marks its return after a two-year hiatus this year due to COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the 15th tournament on the BWF Tour this year. India’s Kasyap is the only seeded player in the men’s singles draw from the country, while women’s singles player Nehwal is seeded fourth. Mithun Manjunath, who upset Kidambi Srikanth in the opening round of the Singapore open last week, will take on Kim Bruun in the first round here.

Star Indian shuttlers PV Singu, Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen have skipped the Taipei Open. Even the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag shetty have also given the Taipei Open a miss to prepare well for the Commonwealth Games. Meanwhile world number 70 Kiran George is part of the men’s singles draw, the 22-year-old will take on Azerbaijan’s Ade Dwichayo in the first round. 

When is the 2022 Taipei Open Badminton championship?

The 2022 Taipei Open  will commence on July 19 and end on July 24.
