Taipei Open 2022: Day 5 Results, Schedule, Fixture and Live Streaming Details

Indian campaign at the Taipei Open badminton tournament ended after Parupalli Kashyap and the two doubles pairs suffered narrow defeats in the quarter-finals of the singles and doubles category respectively on Friday. Third seed, Kashyap went down fighting to Soong Joo Ven of Malaysia with a 12-21, 21-12, 17-21 scorleied in the last-8 match that lasted 55 minutes at the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium in Taipei, Taiwan. After losing the first game, Kashyap got his scts together to take the second game. The third game was a rather closely contested affair, but the Malaysian kept his composure and closed the game in his favour. 

Tanisha also had a disappointing day as she suffered defeats in both the mixed and women’s doubles competition. Tanisha and Ishaan Bhatnagar, seeded sixth, lost 19-21, 12-21 to Malaysia’s Hoo Pang Ron and Tog Ee Wei in the mixed doubles match that lasted 32 minutes. Meanwhile Tanish and Shruti Mishra played a thrilling game against Hong Kong’s sixth seed Ng Tsz Yau and Tsang hiu Yan before going down with a scoreline of 16-21, 22-20, 18-21 in just over an hour in the women’s doubles last-8 match.
