The Korea Open is an annual badminton event that is commonly held in South Korea. The tournament used to be known as Korea Open Super Series. However, it became one of the BWF Super Series tournaments in 2007. In 2018, BWF categorised the tournament as Super 500. This was done under the restructuring of the BWF calendar in 2018.
Heading into the Day 2 of the Korea Open will see shuttlers in action in the Round of 32. The men’s singles will start with Priyanshu Rajawat battling it out for India. Later in the day, Kiran George will face T.W. Wang of Taiwan. However, the highlight of day 2 will be the battle between Kento Momota and Kidambi Srikanth. Other Indians in the fray are M. Manjunath & H.S. Prannoy. In the men’s doubles, all eyes will be on Chirag Shetty & Satwiksairaj Rankireddy. The pair has already stormed into the round of 16.
In the women’s singles, Tasnim Mir will start the proceedings against G.E. Kim of South Korea. Besides that, the former world no. 1 Tai Tzu Ying will be in the middle against Malika Bansod. The most awaited clash is however that of P.V. Sindhu and Y.P. Pai of Taiwan. Other Indians who will be in the middle are Aakarshi Kashyap, Ashmita Chaliha & Tanya Hemanth. The top pairing of Rohan Kapoor & Sikki Reddy will lead the challenge in mixed doubles in Korea Open. The duo will be against A. Morada & A. Leonardo of the Philippines.
