Satwik and Chirag came into the tournament on the back of a French Open triumph. However, the World no. 8 pair found it tough against Lee and Lu, trailing 7-14 in the first game. Although the Indian duo managed to level the score at 17-17, Lee and Lu won three of the next four points and eventually converted their second game point to take a 1-0 lead. The second game was a much closer affair as the Chinese Taipei pair had a 19-17 lead and were on the verge of making it a straight-game victory. But Satwik and Chirag had other plans as the Indian duo pocketed four successive points to clinch the second game and force the match into the decider. The Indian’s had the upper hand in the decider and sealed the match at 21-16.
