Indian shuttler Sain Nehwal produced a fine performance to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s singles category at the BWF World Championship in Tokyo on Tuesday. The London Olympics bronze medalist took 38 minutes to dispatch Ngan Yi 21-19, 21-9 in the round of 64 clash. The 32-year-old shuttler has moved to the pre-quarterfinals as her second-round opponent , Nozomi Okuhara pulled out of the tournament due to an injury, giving the Indian a bye. Meanwhile the India duo of Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly also made a winning start to their campaign at the prestigious tournament, defeating Malaysian pair of Low Yeen Yuan and Valeree Siow in their round of 64 match in the women’s doubles category.  The India pair secured the match with a scoreline of 21-11, 21-13.
