Even though BWF badminton rankings might be inconsequential at the moment, with the Paris Olympic Qualification rankings taking precedence. However, the former might hold some value for 17-year-old Indian Anmol Kharb, who played a pivotal role in the country’s Badminton Asia Team Championships winning campaign.

The former World No. 472 secured upset wins over China’s Wu LY, Japan’s Natsuki Nidaira, and P Choeikeewong of Thailand, to jump a massive 136 places, to be ranked 336th in the world now. That is huge considering Kharb was only appearing in her second senior competition. The first was the Chhattisgarh India International Challenge in 2023, where she lost in the Round of 16.
