Aleia Hobbs is a professional track and field athlete from the United States who specializes in sprinting events. She clinched the silver medal for the country in the 4 X 100m relay event, along with Javianne Oliver, Teahna Daniels, Jenna Prandini, and Gabrielle Thomas, at Tokyo Olympics 2020. During the 2019 World Relays, Hobbs represented the United States and helped the country win the gold. She signed an intent letter to play for the LSU Lady Tigers in 2014 and competed for them up to the middle of 2018. At that point, she turned professional and secured a sponsorship agreement with Adidas.

The year 2018 was one of the best years in Aleia’s athletics career. She won the national title as the anchor leg of the 4 X100 meter relay at the NCAA Championships in 2018 with a time of 42.25. She also anchored the collegiate record setting 4 X100 meter relay squad that won gold at the SEC Championships with a time of 42.05. Hobbs served as the anchor for the 4 X100 meter relay team that set a preliminary meet record for the NCAA Championships (42.09). Aleia set a record for the quickest time ever raced facing a headwind in NCAA history when she won the individual gold in the 100 meters in 11.01 seconds. At the SEC Championships, she ran a 100-meter dash meet record-breaking 10.92 seconds to win gold.

The sprinter also assisted LSU in setting six of the eight fastest 4 X100 meter relay marks in NCAA history over the last two seasons, three of which came in 2018. She holds five of the eight fastest 100-meter dashes in NCAA history that are wind-legal, four of which were completed in 2018. She achieved her season high of 10.90 at the NCAA East Preliminaries. Aleia claimed the 100 meter sprint in the Texas Relays, the LSU Invitational, the SEC Championships, and the NCAA Championships.  At the Miami Hurricane Invitational, she ran a personal best of 22.93 to finish third. In 2018, she also served as the anchor leg for the 4 X 100 meter relay, which went undefeated and established six of the top eight marks in NCAA history.
