Ajeé Wilson is a middle-distance runner who represents the United States in the 800 meter events. She is the reigning world indoor champion after winning the title in March, last year, in Belgrade 2022. She clocked a timing of 1:59.09 in the 800 meter, also her season’s best performance, to clinch the prestigious gold. Besides this, she had previously won two silver medal in the World Indoors championships in 2016 and 2018. In addition, she has bagged two bronze medals in the World Championships in Athletics (outdoors). She represented the United States at the Rio Olympics 2016.

She was born on May 8, 1994, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Her parents are Tonya Anderson and Zachary Wilson. Zachary is the name of her brother, and Constance, Jade, and Brietta are her three sisters. Up until 2012, Wilson went to the Neptune Township, New Jersey, campus of the Academy of Allied Health & Science. She had intended to attend Florida State University before opting to pursue a career in Athletics.

She had consented to play for the Florida State Seminoles under the coach Karen Harvey in 2012, but only days before the fall semester, she opted to embark on a professional career and go back to her coach Derek Thompson at Temple University. The move paid off as she ran the fastest junior 800m in 1:58.21, a North American and USA junior record, to finish in fifth position at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow. Although she received her degree from Temple University in 2016, she continues to train with Philadelphia’s Juventus Track Club and her coach Derek Thompson.
