The Asian Athletics Championships 2023 is all set to take place from July 13 to July 16, 2023, at the National Stadium of Thailand in Bangkok. For the first time, Thailand will be hosting this prestigious continental championship. This will be the 25th edition of the competition and will feature 43 events. The athletes will not only compete for medals but also aim to qualify for the World Athletics Championships 2023 to be held in Budapest, Hungary.

The National Inter-State Athletics Championships 2023 winners Tajinder Pal Singh Toor and Jyothi Yarraji will be participating in the Asian Athletics Championships 2023. Toor improved his own national and Asian records with an impressive 21.77m throw at the Nationals after breaking the Championships and Asian Games record at the Federation Cup in Ranchi. Meanwhile, Yarraji, the holder of the national record, qualified for this tournament with a 12.89s performance in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Federation Cup 2023.
