Recap and highlights of the night

The show began with video from last week’s WWE SmackDown, in which Brock Lesnar attempted to ambush Roman Reigns and The Usos. The night began with Brock Lesnar standing outside of Roman Reigns’ locker room. He pushed his way into the empty room and began waiting for Roman.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jimmy Uso

Jimmy Uso and Shinsuke Nakamura competed in singles competition, joined by Jey Uso and Rick Boogs, as a glimpse of the forthcoming SmackDown Tag Team Championship fight at WrestleMania. Nakamura won the encounter thanks to a ringside diversion with Boogs and Jey fighting over the latter’s Gibson guitar. Here, Nakamura looked fantastic, battling from behind to win the bout.

King Xavier Woods vs. Ridge Holland

Ridge Holland was led to the ring by Sheamus and Butch for his rematch with Kofi Kingston. The former rugby player, though, did not face Kingston on Friday, but rather the returning “King of the ring”  Xavier Woods.

The contest was a race, not quite the warm welcome return Woods deserved. He nevertheless triumphed, securing a swift victory over Holland and halting the momentum of the new star ahead of WrestleMania. It was an enjoyable encounter, and Wood’s return was eagerly awaited by the crowd.

Humberto vs Ricochet

Before the matchup Ronda Rousey came inn the ring to cut a promo but was shortly interrupted by The Smackdown woman’s champion, who looked like can’t talk to the “Rowdy” on her face.

Ricochet, the Intercontinental champion, returned to the programme to face Angel of Los Lotharios. Due to intervention from partner, Humberto, a brief match ended with the heel winning an upset win, prompting Ricochet to challenge Humberto for a match.

Humberto defeated Ricochet by countout, giving the heel’s a lead of  2-0 in a single day.

Rhea Ripley vs. Sasha Banks vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Queen Zelina

An action-packed fight with several brilliant manoeuvres ended with The Boss getting the win, giving both her and Naomi momentum heading into their title showdown.

After an entire programme promising a showdown between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, it looked like the show would deliver it.

But looks like Reigns us safe till Wrestlemania. Before Lesnar emerged on the screen and assaulted The Tribal Chief’s SUV, Reigns delivered a standard “acknowledge me” promo. He tried to attack Reigns in the arena, but security officers stopped him, only to suffer his fury.

Reigns capped off the heated angle by saying Lesnar will acknowledge him at “The Grandest Stage of all”.
