Kofi Kingston has made some daring remarks and regardless of what others think, he sticks by them. He believes The New Day is the greatest faction in the history of pro wrestling, and he makes no apologies for his bravado.

He wholeheartedly agrees with the statement. Many WWE superstars, including Kofi Kingston, are ecstatic that the organization has finally opened the much-discussed “Forbidden Door.”

He said that a match between The New Day and The Elite was his ideal match.

Kingston is a true WWE fanatic who has accomplished about all there is to achieve in the industry. The 40-year-old is a grand slam winner, and his time with The New Day was likely his most lucrative era in terms of earnings.

The New Day is also the longest-serving faction in WWE history, and a dream match between them and AEW’s The Elite has been discussed.

The two sides have met previously, but it was in a game environment rather than a wrestling one.

The afterword came that Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Champion Mickie James will be competing in the Women’s Royal Rumble.

WWE SmackDown Superstar Kofi Kingston was questioned if he and his New Day stablemates had ever considered a bout with wrestlers from outside WWE.

Kofi Kingston responded to the question on an episode of the Battleground PODCAST

“Absolutely, we talk about working with The Elite all the time,” Kingston responded. “We talk about having a six-man [tag match] with The Elite, that would be great. We kind of touched it when we played them in Street Fighter at E3 [in 2018]. That wasn’t supposed to happen, we were surprised [that we got the approval from WWE]. We thought at some point it would get pulled, you know?

“We were expecting to be told, ‘Wait, a minute, we don’t know who these guys are. You can’t be out there, socializing and acknowledging people from other universes.’ But here we are man, it’s crazy. It’s a great thing.”

Mickie James was also mentioned by Kofi Kingston, who said it was only fitting that she was the first to pass the forbidden door. He thought it was “very Mickie of her” to poke her head in and announce her participation in the Royal Rumble. He went on to say that it had been a long since he’d seen her.

What we have currently is just a taste of The Forbidden Door’s potential. In actuality, the issue is less convoluted.

Despite being the Knockouts Champion, Mickie James is not tied to a full-time deal with Impact Wrestling.

However, the move appears to have bolstered Impact Wrestling’s spirits, and there’s no question that many WWE superstars keep an eye on other firms, notably the #2 company, AEW.

It will be fascinating to see whether Vince McMahon and Tony Khan ever form a collaborative environment. On the other hand, The New Day vs. The Elite would be one of the craziest transition events in contemporary wrestling history.
