The Undertaker will soon be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and the Deadman has been opening up about his time as an in-ring performer.

There was a time in 2000 when the Undertaker had a drastic change in his character and came out as the American Badass. That meant a new theme song and a new entrance. Speaking on the True Geordie Podcast, Taker said, “So that was really cool, riding out on a motorcycle, I mean you can’t get much cooler than that, right? But it just gave me a chance to compete on the same level, like I could cut promos with Austin and I could threaten them in a completely different way than what the Undertaker would do. So it was just a minute for me to regroup and then, we always had the mindset that I would go back, and all that would be retro and all be new again. It worked out fortunately, it worked out the way it was supposed to, but it was a huge roll of the dice.”

The Phenom also said that him taking up the character of the American Badass was a huge roll of the dice but added that it was necessary. “Oh my gosh, that was a big roll of the dice right there, it was huge, but I felt like it was so necessary to give them something, now I kept, for the real fan, there were a few nuances that I kept and I brought along with me. I was fortunate and smart enough that I kept the name, you know I’m still the Undertaker, but we added the American Badass onto it. So there was always that link that was there.”

Bully Ray wants Undertaker to be the sole inductee

We all know by now that the Undertaker will not be the only inductee into this year’s Hall of Fame as he will be joined by Vader and Sharmell but Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes that the company should make the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2022 only about The Undertaker to justify his fame and stature. He also suggested that the company should make a big deal of his induction by inviting one and all to the induction show.

“This year’s entire Hall of Fame induction should be about The Undertaker,” Bully said. “I think several people should come up and help induct him. I think they can make it a very entertaining show. Taker can talk forever. I think it sells out the American Airlines Arena [in Dallas] on its own.

“That’s how big of a deal The Undertaker being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is. It’s like, how do you pick just one person to induct him? There are so many people that can do a phenomenal job of inducting him. Why not bring in everybody up there? I am a fan of the Hall of Fame induction behind the night after SmackDown. As a fan, you’re getting a lot of value, you’re getting value for your buck.”
