It has been known for a while now that Cody Rhodes has all but signed for the WWE. Dave Meltzer confirmed it twice last week and then a lot of mainstream news outlets have also picked it up.

The former AEW EVP is all set to return to the place where he started it all, WWE and is rumoured to be taking on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38. Ever since leaving the WWE in 2016, Rhodes has gone on to achieve great success on the independent circuit while also being instrumental in making the AEW a success and a lot of what it is today is owed in a large part to him. After spending three years at All Elite Wrestling, he let his contract run down decided against renewing it.

On the latest episode of Talk Is Jericho, the former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has confirmed the news about the return. He said, “I’m pulling back the curtain a little bit on the wrestling business. You’re gonna discover how I’ve been able to be Chris Jericho no matter what company I work for or where I wrestle. You’ll hear how Danhausen gets to keep his name and gimmick from promotion to promotion. How Cody got to reclaim Rhodes from WWE even though he’s back in WWE.”

Booker T is confused with the situation surrounding Cody

With Cody still not on WWE television, WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T said that he was a bit confused about how the company will be re-introducing Rhodes and integrating him into a story. He said, “They said that the WWE is waiting for WrestleMania for the big surprise. How can it be a surprise, first of all? I am just trying to figure this out because I actually read that, ‘WWE is waiting for WrestleMania for this to be a big surprise.’ How could this be a big surprise now, when everybody has been reporting on Cody Rhodes ever since the day he left AEW. How?”

He also said that Rhodes needs to make an appearance soon if he wants to make it a success. “We are going to find out here relatively quick if Cody is coming back because WrestleMania is upon us, WrestleMania is just a couple of weeks out. My thing is this: if he’s coming, dammit, he better get on board. He better get on this ride, because brother, the train is pulling out of the station. If he ain’t on board, his a** is going to get left behind”, Booker said.
