WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT commentator Booker T recently addressed rumors that Brock Lesnar had backstage heat as a result of his actions at the Royal Rumble. The Beast Incarnate participated in this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match. He entered the fight in his twelfth position and was surprisingly defeated by Bobby Lashley, who finished in just 2 minutes and 28 seconds. After his elimination, Lesnar destroyed the commentary table and attacked the referee. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Lesnar won’t face Gunther or Austin at WrestleMania 39.
He added, “Lesnar has been confirmed to be working at both Montreal (Elimination Chamber) and WrestleMania. He could be another match against Lashley for Mania. All we were told was that the rumors about Gunther were false and that Steve Austin, who they contacted about Lesnar, declined to wrestle on the show,” he explained.
