WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has addressed the controversy surrounding his exclusion from the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match. The six-time World Champion returned to the ring last Saturday for his first Royal Rumble match since 2012. He entered the fight in 21st place and he lasted 42 seconds before being eliminated by Gunther. Meanwhile, some fans have claimed that Booker wasn’t legally eliminated, believing he went down the middle rope instead of the top.

“There are still a lot of people still saying that because I passed the middle rope, I didn’t cross the top rope, so I’m officially still at the Royal Rumble. That’s what people say, but it shows how smooth I really am. I’m about to tell you, brother, I walked the top rope like butter. I walked the top rope like Butterman. When crossing the apron, I tried to get as close to it as possible. That’s probably why I looked like that,” he said. After being sidelined for months with an injury, Cody Rhodes returned to ring action last Saturday at the Royal Rumble, a premium live event. American Nightmare entered the Men’s Royal Rumble match in 30th place and he lasted over 15 minutes before defeating Gunther to win the match. Rhodes will attempt to win the company’s first-ever World Championship when he challenges Roman Reigns for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.
