Matthew Fredrick Riddle (Born: January 14, 1986, Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States) is an American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist better known by his in-ring name Riddle. He is currently signed to WWE where is a tag team champion with Randy Orton. He attended Saratoga Springs High school and was a state wrestling champion in 2004. During his high school career, he pinned future UFC champion, Jon Jones. He later attended East Stroudsburg University, where he was a member of its team for two years and won many championships. After his head coach was fired, Riddle lost his wrestling scholarship and began his transition to MMA.
During his amateur MMA career, he worked as a roofer and trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the evenings. While being a professional MMA fighter from 2008 to 2014, Riddle made a name for himself by appearing on Spike TV’s The Ultimate Fighter 7 and went on to hold a four-fight winning streak in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) before being fired for testing positive for smoking marijuana in February 2013. He also fought for Titan FC and has a compiled career record of 8-3. Riddle began training for a career in professional wrestling in 2014 at Monster Factory and wrestled at several independent promotions between 2015 and 2018.

Riddle was married to Lisa Rennie from 2011 to 2022. She is a former Olympic weight lifter and LSU two-time American gymnast. They had twin daughters named Amy and Allison Riddle born in 2010 and a son Zachary Riddle born in 2013. She was born and brought up in Las Vegas and is associated with CB Durance, a supplement company. Riddle is said to be very vocal about the forgiving and supportive nature of his wife. Both also made an appearance on a show of Bubba the Love Sponge.
Right now, both are separated and the relationship between them appears to be strained. In 2021, in a tweet, she had accused Riddle of walking away from his family. In 2021, Riddle made a tweet talking about his life in WWE and working with Randy Orton. The tweet read “I love my life so much bro!!! I’m in California tagging with my best bro Randy and trust me it doesn’t get any better than this dude”. To this Lisa had replied, “You would say that now that you packed up and moved to Orlando away from your children.” On Riddle’s Instagram account too, no post related to his wife can be seen after October 2021.
