The number of model-turned-wrestlers dominating the Women's Division would rise throughout the 2000's.

Modern-day WWE One of the highlights of recent WWE programming has been Women’s Evolution. Instead of being considered as eye candy, women are now main event performers, noted for their skill in the ring. Women like Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Rhea Ripley have enjoyed the same level of popularity as men. Divas are no longer engaged in pillow fights or lingerie fights. Women are viewed as equally athletic and strong athletes.  

However, the evolution of Raw and Smackdown programming lagged far behind in the early 2000s. WWE would enter the Inconsiderate Aggression Era after the Attitude Era. The number of model-turned-wrestlers dominating the Women’s Division would rise throughout this time. WWE would launch the Diva Search, whose winners became well-known figures, to add more female talent. All of Christy Hemme, Ashley Massaro, Layla El, Eve Torres, and Eva Marie’s WWE runs were noteworthy. However, numerous Divas entered and exited around the same time period with less ceremony. 

Carmella DeCesare 

In the first WWE In 2004, Carmella took part in the Diva Search competition. Christy Hemme, the winner of the Diva Search, and Carmella would fight. At Taboo Tuesday 2004, Carmella and Hemme would engage in a lingerie pillow fight on pay-per-view. After losing the fight, Carmella quit the WWE. In 2004, Carmella would further win Playboy Playmate of the Year. Following her departure from WWE, Carmella wed quarterback Jeff Garcia in 2007. Carmella would model for the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Carmella is currently working in real estate.

Joy Giovanni

At No Way Out 2005, Giovanni defeated three other women, including future superstar Michelle McCool, to win the Smackdown Rookie of the Year award. At WrestleMania 25 in 2009, Giovanni would make an appearance to take part in the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal. Giovanni would launch a massage therapy practice in San Diego, California, following her time with the WWE. Today, Giovanni works as a medium, helping people who are struggling to connect with loved ones who have passed away. In addition, Giovanni provides a six-month mentoring programme.

Kristal

Kristal won her first Smackdown match by defeating Jillian Hall. She began a love interest with Theodore Long in 2007. Theodore would have a heart attack while getting married to Kristal in the ring. Weeks later, she would be fired from WWE. Kristal and Bobby Lashley had a relationship that lasted from 2007 until 2010. Lashley and Kristal have two kids. Kristal is now an artist after quitting WWE. Her artwork is shown on social media.

Lauren Mayhew

During her brief tenure after debuting in 2004, she feuded with the aforementioned Joy Giovanni, whom she defeated in her sole professional match. With charges of harassment and bullying, Weber would resign from WWE. Weber described Edge and Randy Orton as bullies in a frat house setting. Amy Weber married film producer David Dginger in 2008 after leaving WWE. She kept modeling and working in music and cinema. She now works in real estate.

Linda Miles

Linda Miles won Tough Enough’s second season in 2002. Miles was transferred to developing after being put on the Raw brand and participating in a botched bout against Jackie Gayda, a fellow Tough Enough participant. She would make a comeback in June 2003 as Shaniqua, the Basham Brothers’ heel valet. The dominant divas of the day were 6 feet tall and 166 pounds of femininity. In 2004, she was released. The former basketball star from Rutgers returned to the sport after leaving WWE. She presently officiates college basketball games.
