There are a lot of good things in the WWE and arguably the best is the wrestler’s theme song. When the music hits, you can see that the atmosphere changes and the fans lose their minds as their favourite superstars make their way to the ring. Over the years, there have been a lot of superstars who were great wrestlers but also had an insane, crowd popping entrance music. In this article, we will take a look at the top 10 wrestling themes in history.

The Rock

“If you smell, what the Rock is cooking”, are the iconic words that had wrestling fans enthralled in the 90’s and still does in some way. The Rock or Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as he is now called is a global superstar and has won the lot during his time as a regular, full time wrestler. Each time, the crowd heard his famous music, they went nuts and the same carries on to this day, even after all these years. There have been a few variations to the music over the years but the magic around the song and the aura around the superstar remains the same and it is quite frankly the most electrifying song in WWE history.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

When the glass shatters, you know that something is about to go really bad. Stone Cold Steve Austin was such a character that people would get intimidated by the mere presence of the man and add to that, his iconic entrance music and his opponents knew that they were in for a hard time. Austin, also known as the Texas Rattlesnake, made his name by crossing the boss (Vince McMahon) and in the process made it fashionable. He made his in-ring comeback at WrestleMania 38 after 20 long years to take on Kevin Owens and came out to the very theme song that helped put his name on the map. He went on to defeat Owens at the Show of Shows and opened up a few beer cans along the way.

Shawn Michaels

Quite possibly the most charismatic wrestler in the history of the WWE, Shawn Michaels had an iconic theme song that matched up to him in every possible way. It was the first time that a wrestler sang his own theme song and it had some very catchy lyrics and guitar riffs. HBK was a global superstar and had some of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history. He was definitely a polarizing figure and was involved in his fair share of controversies but he stood out from the crowd and his theme music was key to whatever he did as it did not change even once during his long career.

The Undertaker

Each time the gong goes off, a wrestling fan can only think of one thing and that is The Undertaker. The Undertaker is arguably the greatest wrestler in the history of WWE and that is down to the aura that the great man maintained during his time as a full time wrestler. Taker had a surreal character that revolved around taking wrestler’s souls and his theme music amplified everything that he did in the ring and out. He went on to win all the top titles in the business and also had an undefeated streak at WrestleMania where he won for 21 years in a row. His music changed over years as he adopted different characters but the iconic tune with the piano and the gong will live long in the memory of wrestling fans all over the world.

Roman Reigns

There are not a lot of entrances that make the fans in the arena go wow but Roman Reigns’ theme song is definitely one of them. Ever since he became known as the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns ditched his old SHIELD theme and started coming out to a new song which quite frankly is the best in the WWE right now. Each time, Reigns comes out with his family and Paul Heyman, the fans inside the arena all lift their hands in unison to acknowledge the Tribal Chief as the music plays in the background and it is quite frankly a sight to behold.

Edge

Edge is one of the most over wrestlers in the eyes of the WWE fans and rightly so. So each time, he comes out to his music, which starts off with the iconic phrase, “You think you know me,” the fans go wild. The pop that the crowd had when Edge returned from retirement in 2020 was one of the loudest in WWE history. The song is heavy with a lot of head banging and sits very well with Edge’s character. He has won all the big titles in the WWE and he always had the same theme music and it did not matter if he was playing a good guy or the villain.

John Cena

When we think of John Cena’s theme song, we tend to think of the one that he is using currently, which is “My time is now.” But the theme song that the fans love and to which Cena made his name is his very first theme song titled “Basic Thuganomics.” After Shawn Michaels, Cena was the other superstar to sing his own theme song and given that he was a good rapper, it was easy for him. The song also evokes memories of the time when John Cena was a heel and did not play a PG character and that is something that the harcore wrestling fan loves to this day.

Hulk Hogan

If there is any wrestler, past or present, that made the WWE into what it is today, then the name Hulk Hogan comes to mind. Hogan was the trail blazer that took WWE into the mainstream and helped it stay there. He resonated with fans all over the world and one of the main reasons for that was his theme song, Real American by Rick Derringer. Each time Hogan came out to his theme song, the fans would sing along as it also had a sense of patriotism attached to it. He went on to win all the titles in the business and etched his name into wrestling folklore.

Triple H

The Undisputed King of the WWE, Triple H had a theme song that fit his character perfectly. The guttural voice of the iconic late Lemmy Kilmister was integral to each time HHH came out to the ring. The heavy nature of the music and given the fact that HHH was a heel for most of his time as an in-ring wrestler was a match made in heaven. Triple H went on to win the WWE Championship 14 times and as a result was involved in some of the most iconic matches in the history of WWE. He recently retired from in-ring competition and took over the role of Chief Content Officer after the retirement of Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon had a theme song that struck fear into the hearts of wrestlers and drew a standing ovation from the fans. The Boss as he is rightly called had the same theme song for his entire time in the WWE and it was rightly named, “No Chance.” Each time he came out to his theme, he strutted down the ramp in a way that only he could, which was called the Power Walk. Vince McMahon had some of the most memorable moments in WWE history and his theme song was central to whatever he did during his time in the company.
