As Triple H took on the role of Chief Content Officer and put a strong emphasis on product quality, the company’s dynamics shifted. According to a recent article, The Game has big expectations for Gunther and believes that he will eventually represent the organization as a World Champion.

The world of sports entertainment was altered last year by the entry of the new leadership, led by Triple H. Hunter promoted talents from the developmental brand once they made the transfer to the main roster, in addition to bringing back a number of superstars who had been dismissed and raising the level of the show.

Among all the superstars who have joined the main roster, Gunther has distinguished himself the most. Hunter likes The Ring General, and according to a recent study from GiveMeSport through WrestleVotes, he may be the next big thing in 2023:

“Triple H loves him. They all love him ever since he came into his own at Clash at the Castle. I’m not just talking about Triple H, Road Dogg is big on him, Jason Jordan really likes him.”

According to the report, Gunther may be one of the select few wrestlers who would eventually represent WWE as a champion.

“Once WWE gets two World titles, you double the amount of people in the main event. Gunther is ready to step up. I expect by the summer to see him at the top of the card. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins a World title. He might be next in line.”

Gunther is the IC Champion

Walter (also known as Gunther), who was hired by Triple H in 2019, started working on the UK-based developing brand. He ultimately broke the record for the longest-reigning WWE NXT Britain Champion.

During the previous administration, Gunther made his main roster debut with Ludwig Kaiser last year. The emerging star, who won the Intercontinental Title on the blue brand, had Vince McMahon’s support as well.

Under Hunter’s new regime, Gunther went on to establish himself to be a major event-level performer when he battled The Brawling Brutes’ Sheamus at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 and held his championship in what was rated a strong candidate for match of the year.

Afterward, he went on a dominating spree during the Men’s Royal Rumble battle, lasting the gimmick match after more than 70 minutes, breaking Rey Mysterio’s 2006 record.

On Smackdown it feels like Gunther will now go against Drew McIntyre.
