There have been rumours flying around for quite some now about a match between Roman Reigns and Riddle. There is now more clarity on when and how the match can take place. According to Dave Meltzer, the match is now expected to take place on television rather than at a live event. It was originally reported widely that Riddle would be challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at next month’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view. It was after Riddle called out Reigns. But earlier this week it was reported that the Tribal Chief is now no longer going to be present on the day of the show.

Because of the aforementioned change, the original plan of Riddle taking on Roman will now happen on either RAW or SmackDown. There is also a chance that WWE may not do the match at all, but Riddle is set to appear on SmackDown this week and confront Reigns. The Tribal Chief was advertised for Money In The Bank next month but was taken off the show along with Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair as WWE changed the location to a smaller venue as they were having difficulty in selling out the 65 thousand seated Allegiant Stadium. The show has now been shifted to the MGM Grand Garden which houses 17 thousand people.

Roman Reigns is working a lighter schedule

If Roman Reigns does not put his title on the line at Money In The Bank, then it will be the third live event where he has not defended his title. The Tribal Chief has not been involved in a singles match ever since he was crowned the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion by beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 back in April.

It has been reported that Reigns is now working on a lighter schedule as compared to the past when he was available for all the live house shows throughout the year. But if does not feature at Money In The Bank, then it will confirm the fact that he will not only skip live shows but also smaller pay-per-view events. He is however expected to be part of the two upcoming stadium shows this summer with WWE SummerSlam and WWE Clash At The Castle, where his opponents are reportedly going to be Randy Orton and then Drew McIntyre, respectively.
