Cody Rhodes is a fan of the classic WWE Championship design, the Winged Eagle, and says he may bring it back if he wins the title at WrestleMania. Rhodes talked about this idea in his latest episode of WWE’s The Bump. You can see the highlights below. “In my youth, the WWE I watched was really synonymous with the winged eagle. Some people like the design), but the winged eagle was a good fit for me.”

“Today’s design with a giant W is also incredibly special – this walking billboard for promotion. If you make it to the finish line, it’s the best WrestleMania ever. If I can make it to the finish line with his SoFi [Stadium] in Hollywood and, like I said, get these things that my family has been missing out on. It’s just a little bit of fun – maybe It’s just a pipe dream. Maybe it’s just an idea, a faint idea, but it would be fun to say, “Let’s boil down [two separate titles] and bring back the winged eagle.” I have a lot of love and respect for this. I had the same dream with the Intercontinental title and was lucky enough to make it happen. Join us as the fun starts here.”

For those of you who don’t know, in 1978 my dad won the WWE Title, but he won the match by walking the top rope or disqualification. He put on the belt. , big pantomime, the crowd was excited but they took it away. So you won the match but the champion can retain the title, it’s mentioned in RAW so it’s real I have this photo and it was my first dream of how to get it to him. I also have the original belt. I showed it to Vince when we first met, and as special as this belt is, it’s the only thing Roman has.” On his episode of RAW this Monday night, at WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes challenged Reigns for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
