The legendary tag team of Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham, known collectively as the U.S. Express, is set to be enshrined in the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame. The news, first reported by The Ringer, was confirmed by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque in a heartfelt video shared on social media, where he personally informed Rotunda and Windham of their induction.

In the emotional video, Levesque reminisced about the duo’s iconic role at the inaugural WrestleMania, where they valiantly defended the then-World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championships against formidable opponents. Recognizing their immense contributions to WWE’s legacy, Levesque delivered the joyous news of their well-deserved induction into the Hall of Fame.

“It’s been a great journey,” expressed Rotunda, visibly moved by the announcement. “I mean, watching WWE grow, so it’s pretty damn cool to be part of it in any aspect.”

Many WWE legends will get their place at WWE Hall of Fame

Rotunda and Windham, who are the respective father and uncle of the late WWE superstar Bray Wyatt, emerged as one of wrestling’s most dynamic duos in the early 1980s. Their electrifying performances captivated audiences, particularly in Florida, where they initially debuted before making their mark in WWE as the formidable U.S. Express in 1984.

Guided by the legendary manager Capt. Lou Albano, Rotunda and Windham clinched the coveted tag team titles on two memorable occasions. Their first championship victory came after dethroning the formidable duo of Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis. Despite a brief setback, the resilient duo reclaimed the titles, solidifying their place in wrestling history.

The brother-in-law tandem will join esteemed company alongside the likes of Paul Heyman and Bull Nakano as part of the illustrious 2024 Hall of Fame class. Windham, already a Hall of Fame inductee as part of the legendary Four Horsemen stable in 2012, adds another accolade to his storied career.

The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place following the April 5 SmackDown event at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, setting the stage for a memorable celebration just before the exhilarating kickoff of WrestleMania at Lincoln Financial Field.
