Booker T. Huffman Jr born March 1, 1965, Plain Dealing, Louisiana, United States) is an American professional wrestler better known by his in-ring name Booker T. He is also a wrestling promoter and a colour commentator. He is currently signed to WWE and is also the owner and founder of the independent promotion Reality of Wrestling in Texas City, Texas.

Booker T is known for being the 5-time WCW Champion and has been named by peers and industry commentators as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of his era; he was voted WWE’s greatest World Heavyweight Champion in a 2013 viewer poll.

Booker was born the youngest of eight children, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Both his parents died by the time he was 13 years. After that, he started to live with his sister who was 16 years old. Later, he would move in with his older brother Lash “Stevie Ray” Huffman at age 17. In high school, Huffman was a drum major. He also played football and basketball.

He has worked for three major organizations throughout his career, WCW, WWE and TNA. He has won 35 championships in total. In the history of WCW, he is regarded as the first African-American to gain 21 titles as well as 6 WCW television championships. Ultimately, he was the most demanded personality in WCW and was the final United States Heavyweight Champion and World Heavyweight champion.

Booker T in WWE

Booker made his WWE debut in March 2001 when WCW was bought by Vince McMahon. He attacked Stone Cold Steve Austin at the King of the Ring pay-per-view and injured him almost immediately. He later turned heel and became a leading member of The Alliance during the Invasion storyline.

Goldust and Booker T formed a tag team in 2002 and won the World Tag Team titles at Armageddon by defeating Christian and Chris Jericho, Lance Storm and William Regal and the Dudley Boyz in a tag team elimination match.

By 2003, however, Booker T’s popularity had soared and he amicably separated from Goldust, at Goldust’s request, in order to pursue the World Heavyweight Championship. In February 2003, he eliminated The Rock to win a battle royal to become the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XIX. However, Booker T lost to Triple H at WrestleMania

Booker won the 2006 King of the Ring tournament and began wrestling as King Booker. He then entered a battle royal on SmackDown! with the winner to challenge Rey Mysterio for his World Heavyweight Championship at The Great American Bash. Booker won the battle royal and then defeated Mysterio at The Great American Bash to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
