The fifth version of the 2023 FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League is underway, having commenced on May 30 and set to wrap up on July 16, 2023. The quarter-finals of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) for women is taking place on July 13 with semi-finals to be held on July 15 and final on July 16, 2023. Out of the four quarter-finals, two of the matches have been completed which witnessed Poland and the United States defeating Germany and Japan respectively to make their places in the semi-finals of the competition. This implies that two more semi-finalists are yet to be known.
The Quarter-final 4 will see Turkey battling it out against reigning champion, Italy, on July 14, 2023 (IST) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League 2023. Aiming for back-to-back VNL titles, Italy returns to the competition after securing the championship in the 2022 edition. Turkey, a consistent performer in all five previous VNL tournaments, concluded the 2023 VNL preliminary rounds in third place, with nine wins. They stood on the winner’s podium in 2018 as silver medalists and again in 2021 with a bronze medal.
