The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023, a premier event for young volleyball talent, kicked off on August 1, 2023, and is scheduled to culminate on August 11, 2023. The event is hosting 24 of the most skilled young teams from around the globe. The championship consists of 104 matches split across two vibrant European cities, Osijek in Croatia, and Szeged in Hungary.
The format of the tournament has divided the participating teams into four distinct groups. Matches are scheduled to take place from Tuesday to Sunday, with a planned break on Friday to allow players some rest. The knockout phase of the tournament encompasses various exciting stages, including the Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and, ultimately, the medal-awarding matches that will crown the champions.

Japan made it to the Round of 16 by finishing second in the Pool D and defeated Puerto Rico by 3-0 in the pre-quarters. Meanwhile, Thailand finished fourth in the Pool C and got past China in a nail-biting match by 3-2 to reach this phase.
