The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023 is the 18th edition of the international competition held on a biennial basis. This tournament, which is for female volleyball players under the age of 19, is hosted by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). This year, the championship will take place in Croatia and Hungary, from August 1 to August 11, 2023. The 2023 edition will be the first time the girls’ championship age category has been shifted from U18 to U19. The FIVB made this decision in March 2022 to align the girls’ competition with the Boys’ U19 World Championship.
Participants must have been born after 1 January 2005 for them to be eligible for the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023. The announcement of Croatia and Hungary as joint hosts came on 24 January 2023 when the FIVB disclosed the locations for its four Age Group World Championships. Initially, the tournament was to include 20 national teams. However, the FIVB confirmed an expansion to 24 teams in January 2023, facilitating a smoother co-hosting process.
