Taking place from August 28 to September 16, the CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship 2023 is co-hosted by Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Israel. Initially boasting a lineup of 24 national teams, the event is down to its final eight contenders – Slovenia, Ukraine, France, Romania, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Serbia. These remaining squads will be battling for a coveted spot in the semi-finals.

While the European title is the main reward, there is another significant reward which the teams will be receiving, i.e., the qualification for the FIVB Men’s World Volleyball Championship 2025. The best three teams from the European event will earn the right to compete in the global event. Italy, however, has qualified as the reigning world champion and thus has been granted an automatic entry.

On September 12, 2023, Italy will be up against the Netherlands at the CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship 2023. Italy entered the quarter-finals after defeating North Macedonia by 3-0. On the other hand, the Netherlands got the better of Germany in a nail-biting contest by 3-2 and made their place in the significant quarter-final stage.
