Asian Men's Volleyball Championship 2023: How to watch, nations participating, schedule, and more

The Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship 2023 is scheduled to kick-off on August 19 in Urmia, Iran and will commence until August 26, 2023. Volleyball enthusiasts can watch the live action at two venues in Urmia – the Ghadir Arena and Shahidan Ahandoust Hall. Under the banner of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and with the collaboration of the Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF), this championship marks its 22nd occurrence. This elite competition draws in senior men’s teams from the AVC member nations.

This year, 17 nations will be taking part in the competition. These nations include Iran, Japan, China, Chinese Taipei, Qatar, Pakistan, South Korea, India, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Iraq. The above-mentioned countries have qualified for the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship 2023 by virtue of being the host, past year’s performance, and direct entries via zone. 

Japan is the most decorated team in the history of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, boasting nine titles, four second-place finishes, and four third-place standings. South Korea and Iran follow close behind with four championships each. China has three titles, and Australia has clinched one. No other nations have been able to finish on top of the podium.
