Hyderabad Black Hawks will be eager to continue their winning feeling when they take on Chennai Blitz in Prime Volleyball League 2023 powered by A23 on Saturday. This contest at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad will be interesting for various reasons. While Black Hawks will be keen to extend the positive momentum, the Blitz will be desperate to end their two-game losing streak. Chennai had lost their last two fixtures against Bengaluru Torpedoes and Mumbai Meteors.

On the other hand, Hyderabad Black Hawks got a massive victory over Kochi Blue Spikers in their last game. “The mood’s always good after a win. We have momentum and we are looking to carry that in the next game tomorrow,” Black Hawks star Trent O’Dea said, as per a release. “Chennai will feel the pressure after having lost two games in a row. We are almost halfway through the season now. So, there is pressure on most of the teams, because there are only a couple of games left. So, wins are more important if you want to reach the final.”

Besides, Trent lavished praise on skipper SV Guru Prashanth and Hemanth. However, he did not stop there and went on to extend the praise to everyone in the squad, as he spoke highly about their collective strength. “Guru and Hemanth have done a great job so far and have been extremely crucial. But all the guys on the bench can do a similar job. Everyone trusts everyone on our team. We know the job that needs to be done,” he elaborated.

On the other hand, Chennai Blitz skipper Naveen Raja Jacob revisited those defeats. He believes his side only made a few errors which end up costing them the results. “We have lost two games in a row. But we did our best in both games and only small errors changed the course of the match. We have been working on fixing those errors. We are practicing to rectify them,” he added.

Chennai Blitz have two points from three games to be placed seventh in the standings. They have won one and lost two so far. With not many games left to make a mark, Naveen spoke about the importance of getting a victory in this fixture in order to cement a spot in the top four places. “We have to win the next match to get to the final. We will give 100 percent. Akhin has been recovering well and hopefully, he will be back on the court soon, which will help us get the much-needed win,” he stated.
