Four women’s beach volleyball matches will be taking place on Thursday, which will be the final day of group phase action in the Commonwealth Games 2022. In total, there will be six matches happening on Thursday – two in the men’s category and four in the women’s section. The silver medallists from four years ago in Gold Coast won their respective matches in both men’s and women’s categories. There were also other noteworthy results happening on Tuesday.

Later in the day, hosts England overcame neighbours Scotland 2-0 and Cyprus defeated Sri Lanka by the same margin. On Thursday, there will be four more matches taking place. Australia will face Cyprus, while Scotland will take on the Solomon Islands and later the hosts England will play Vanuatu and Trinidad & Tobago will be up in action against Sri Lanka.

A total of 12 men’s and women’s teams will participate in the beach volleyball competition that will take place from 30th July to 7th August. The men’s and women’s sections will each have three pools with four teams in them. The knockout matches start on the fifth of August with the quarterfinals, the next day will be the semifinals and the medal matches will happen on the seventh of August (Sunday). Each match is played with a best of three sets. The first two sets are played to 21 points, and the third set is played to 15 points. The first team to reach 21 points – or 15 points – with a two-point advantage wins the set.
