Manama, Bahrain is hosting the 22nd FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship from June 7 to July 16, 2023. This event on the international volleyball calendar has gathered sixteen teams from five diverse continents, all fielding their top under-21 male athletes. The tournament features countries like Argentina, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czechia, Egypt, India, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Thailand, Tunisia, and the USA. As a contest held every two years, it serves as a platform for young male volleyball players to showcase their skills on the global stage.
On July 16, 2023, Bulgaria will take on Argentina in the bronze medal playoff at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship 2023. In the semi-finals, Italy defeated Bulgaria by 3-1 (23–25, 25–22, 25–23, 25–18) to book themselves a place in the finals of the competition. The semi-final two saw Argentina losing their game against Iran as the Iranian side won by 3-1 (23–25, 25–21, 25–21, 25–20).
