Brazil will be hoping to maintain its place near the top of the table in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League when they face Bulgaria. The Brazilians will be the clear favourites in the upcoming round one clash later on Friday. However, that does not mean the European side will be any kind of a pushover. Bulgaria have also managed to find a bit of form in recent matches. Hence, the upcoming clash between the European and South American sides will be one to keep an eye for.

However, Bulgaria seemed to have found a bit of rhythm in recent matches, winning two of their last three games. Even that defeat against Belgium was an extremely close one. They are 13th in the table, with nine points from nine games.

In the preliminary round, 16 women’s teams will compete in pools of 8 teams under the revised format. During the pool stage, each team plays 12 matches. Eight teams will then advance to the competition’s final knockout round. The Finals will include the seven strongest teams, with the finals host – Turkey – entering the knockout round as the top-placed team. It will consist of eight matches in total – four quarterfinals, two semi-finals, and bronze and gold medal matches.
